Where it lives
Open Settings›Sally on your website›Voice & greeting. Settings is the last item in the left menu; inside it, the Sally on your website group holds everything about how she looks and sounds on your site. Voice & greeting is where her first message, her tone and her reply length live. If you looked for these on the Sally page before, this is their home now.
Set tone and length
Pick a tone
Warm is friendly and reassuring, the safe pick for most salons and beauty rooms. Professional is courteous and to the point, with no slang or emoji, which suits clinics and health. Playful is light and upbeat, good for barbers, tattoo studios and cheeky brands. Leave it untouched and Sally uses a balanced, friendly default.
Pick a reply length
Concise is one or two short sentences, best for quick bookings and phones. Balanced adds a little context. Detailed lets her explain options and aftercare, useful when customers ask what the difference is between two treatments.
Save, then try her
Hit Save changes. The new voice applies to the next chat; nothing to re-embed. Open your booking page and ask her something a customer would ask.
You'll see: the same prices and times as before, delivered in the voice you chose.
Hear the difference
Here is one customer question answered three ways. The facts never move; only the delivery does.
Tone and length combine. A busy barber might run Playful and Concise; a skin clinic might run Professional and Detailed so Sally can walk someone through what a treatment involves.
Which to pick
- Hair salonWarm · Concise or Balanced
- BarberPlayful · Concise
- Brows, lashes, nailsWarm · Concise
- Skin or cosmetic clinicProfessional · Balanced or Detailed
- Massage & wellnessWarm or Professional · Balanced
- Tattoo studioPlayful · Balanced
Rule of thumb: the more a customer is weighing up a decision, the more Detailed helps. The more it's a regular wanting their usual, the more Concise wins. When in doubt, Warm and Concise suits the widest range. Set it, read a few real chats in Inbox after a day or two, and nudge from there.
What it won't change
Common questions
Will Professional ever use an emoji?
No. Professional deliberately avoids emoji and slang. Warm and Playful may use the occasional one where it fits.
Does this change how Sally replies on Instagram?
Yes. The voice you set here is the voice she uses everywhere she answers customers: your website, your booking page, Instagram and Messenger. See Sally on Instagram & Messenger.
I changed it and an open chat didn't change
The new voice applies to new conversations. A chat that was already under way keeps its voice until it ends, so open a fresh one to test.
Still stuck on this?
Paste in a reply of Sally's that didn't sound right and tell us which tone you'd set. We'll check the setting with you.
