Can customers move or cancel their own bookings?

Yes. Every confirmation email carries a Manage booking link. Customers move or cancel inside the window you set, the slot reopens, and your calendar updates on its own.

Where it lives

For your customer it lives in their email: every confirmation has a Manage booking link and a See all your bookings link. For you, every self-serve change shows up in Bookings and on the calendar, marked as changed by the customer. The cutoff they must respect is set under SettingsBooking pageHours & rules.

What your customer does

  1. They open the link in their confirmation

Tapping Manage booking opens a page with their appointment details. There's no password and no account to create; the link is sent only to the email on the booking and can't be guessed.

  2. They reschedule or cancel

To move it, they pick from the times you actually have free. To cancel, they confirm once. If they paid a deposit and cancelled inside your notice window, it's refunded automatically.

You'll see: the freed slot offered to your waitlist straight away.
  3. Everyone's kept in sync

The change lands on your calendar the same second, the customer gets an updated confirmation, and Google Calendar updates too if you've connected it.

See all your bookings goes one further: a secure page listing every booking that customer has with you, past and upcoming, where they can move, cancel or rebook a service they've had before. The steady trickle of “can I move my appointment?” calls tends to dry up.

What stays in your control

  • The cutoff windowToo close, and the page says to call you
  • Real availability onlyOpening hours, blocks, cleanup time

  • VisibilityEvery change on Bookings and the calendar

A customer who tries to change a booking inside your cutoff is told it's too late to change online and asked to phone you, so a last-minute switch never catches you off guard. You can always move or cancel on someone's behalf from the calendar or Bookings when they ring instead.

What it won't do

Honest by designThe link never lets a customer see anyone else's bookings, book a time you don't have free, or skip a deposit. Anything outside your rules is bounced back to you.

Common questions

Can I turn self-serve changes off?

Not entirely, but you can tighten the cutoff so anything close to the day has to come through you. Set it under Services & rules.

A customer says the link doesn't work

Links are tied to the email on the booking. If they forwarded it from another address or the booking was cancelled already, it won't open. Find them under Bookings and make the change for them.

Do I get told when someone moves their booking?

Yes. The change appears on your Bookings list and calendar labelled as made by the customer, and it's in your daily summary. Nothing is sent to other clients.

Still stuck on this?
